Our Team
William Barry, Founder/CEO
Ready to partner with a company leader who sets new standards for electrical contracting quality and performance? William “Bill” Barry, a graduate of Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston and founder/CEO of Southern Power & Controls, understands that the people and companies he serves demand a high-performance team with the finest specialists in the industry.
After working for others, Barry was convinced early in his career that he could build a successful electrical contracting business. When he founded Southern Power & Controls in 1994, Barry had little working capital, no customers, no pending projects and four employees.
His roll-up-the-sleeves and get-to-work attitude is pervasive throughout the company. Barry has instilled his own personal values of honesty, integrity, and an inspiring work ethic that are carried out daily by every Southern Power & Controls associate.
Dedicated to raising the bar within the field of electrical contracting, Barry’s philosophy has ensured that Southern Power & Controls brings a legacy of excellence to every job.

Richard McGregor is detail-oriented. He has to be, because the detail work of each job is so critical to its success. Whether working on a bridge, parking garage, factory or solid waste facility, each job is different and each day brings new challenges.
