Mining

The surface mining industry is a cornerstone of the Southern Power & Controls project portfolio. Producing sand, aggregate, and rock, mining is a vital source of raw materials for the construction market. Our personnel are specially trained and certified in accordance with the latest MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations for compliant operation in mining environments. Electrical construction ranges from installation of high voltage substations to integration of low-voltage communications networks. Equipment and cable must be durable and often mobile as mining operations target new areas for production. In many cases a mining operation utilizes dredging equipment or drag lines with marine rated components. Whatever the application, the installing electrical contractor must be familiar with the mining equipment and knowledgeable of proper safety protocol.
